lf visible in the worst kind of way.Not only did he make TMZ Baby Donte Jackson Jersey , he made it for getting knocked out. Now, the second-year lineman is apologizing for an incident outside a bar in Augusta, Ga.‘’Dear Panther Nation: I would like to offer my deepest apologies to the Panthers organization, my teammates and coaches, the fans and the league,” Hearn said in a statement from his agent, via David Newton of ESPN.com. “I take full responsibility for my actions. There is no excuse for my behavior Best Donte Jackson Jersey , and I will learn from my mistakes.”Hopefully, he also learns to protect his face.In the video, the 6-foot-4, 315-pounder was knocked flat by a punch from a smaller man, the literal insult to injury. Hearn, undrafted from Clemson, stuck as a member of their practice squad before a December call-up to the active roster. I won’t tell you to stop me if you’ve heard this one before Adult Donte Jackson Jersey , because you have. But far too many (especially in the media) aren’t listening.Panthers safety Eric Reid has now faced seven PED tests since joining the Panthers in late September. Six (not seven, which obviously sounds better than six) were random. And Reid believes that his number is randomly coming up as part of an effort to harass him, in retaliation for the collusion grievance he previously filed against the NFL.The numbers, whether six or seven, seem curious. But here’s the one thing that the armchair statisticians and conspiracy theorists continue to ignore, consciously or not: If foul play is happening, there’s a way to try to prove it.Reid Donte Jackson Panthers Jersey , through the NFL Players Association, could file a grievance or some other proceeding aimed at forcing the independent administrator hired by the NFL and the NFLPA to show that its processes for randomly selecting 10 players per team per week are legitimate. This cockeyed notion being floated by some that the NFL has “bought off” someone from the company hired by the league and the union to rig the process can indeed be pursued. A competent lawyer and a skilled expert in digital systems would either confirm or debunk, without much effort, the accuracy and validity of the simple algorithm that picks 10 random numbers from a larger pool.If there are any flaws or quirks or missing data sets, the smoke will begin to gather. If under aggressive questioning a lab tech cracks, flickers of flame will emerge. But before any of that can happen, Reid or the union that represents him has to initiate a challenge to the process. When Reid last raised this suspicion in late November DJ Moore Panthers Jersey , it was reported that the NFLPA is looking into the situation. So what has the union found?Until Reid shares that information or otherwise files a formal grievance or other legal proceeding aimed at getting to the truth (whatever it may be), he’s no different than a politician crying “witch hunt.” But there is at least one difference: Reid has a way to try to prove that someone is hunting witches.Maybe he isn’t because he prefers the perception to the reality.

t again. After introducing Pro Bowl safety Earl Thomas earlier Friday Color Rush Jaylon Ferguson Jersey , the Ravens are nearing completion of a deal with cornerback Justin Bethel, Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports.Bethel will join Thomas, strong safety Tony Jefferson and cornerbacks Marlon Humphrey, Jimmy Smith, Brandon Carr and Tavon Young. The Ravens Jaylon Ferguson Baltimore Ravens Jersey , of course, will face Jarvis Landry, Odell Beckham, JuJu Smith-Schuster and A.J. Green twice next season.Bethel, 28 White Jaylon Ferguson Jersey , spent last season with the Falcons after six seasons in Arizona. He played 14 games last season, seeing no action on defense, but 259 snaps on special teams. In his career, Bethel has 151 tackles, 19 pass breakups Best Lamar Jackson Jersey , four sacks and four interceptions. He has led his teams in special teams tackles for six consecutive seasons and made three Pro Bowls as a special teamer. The Ravens have one of the best kickers in the league in Justin Tucker and that left them with a possible trade asset when Kaare Vedvik showed off a strong, accurate leg during last year’s preseason.Any chatter about a deal ended early on September 1 when Vedvik was hospitalized after being assaulted in Baltimore. He was placed on the non-football injury list and Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said the incident cost him a chance to kick in the league last year. The Ravens have Vedvik under contract and Harbaugh said last week that the hope is that Vedvik attracts the same kind of interest from other teams that he did last year.“He was with us all season, he’s training now,” Harbaugh said, via the team’s website. “He’ll be one of our camp kickers. Actually Adult Lamar Jackson Jersey , I fully expect that he’ll kick well enough for us to trade him. That’s kind of, I would say, the goal. Now, if something changes, it’s always competitive. You never know. Watch out Tuck. But I think we’re really set with our specialists. Obviously Limited Mark Andrews Jersey , we’re not looking to make a change there in all seriousness. But he’s capable of kicking in the NFL. We probably could have traded him last year.”Vedvik was 8-of-9 on field goals, including a 56-yard make, during the preseason last year.

second straight game with a knee injury Stitched Takkarist McKinley Jersey , and the Falcons also will be without starting defensive end Takk McKinley when they host the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.Coach Dan Quinn declared both players out Friday, extending a rash of injuries that have plagued the Falcons (1-1) already this season.Freeman went down with a bruised knee in a Week 1 loss to Philadelphia, while McKinley sustained a groin injury that kept him off the field in the closing stages of last weekend’s 31-24 victory over Carolina.Tevin Coleman took over as the primary running back against the Panthers, rushing for 107 yards, and rookie Ito Smith also was effective. The loss of McKinley means Brooks Reed will likely move into a starting role vs. the Saints. The Falcons also will be missing backup end Derrick Shelby Baby Takkarist McKinley Jersey , ruled out with a groin injury, and reserve linebacker Corey Nelson (calf).Atlanta already has lost safety Keanu Neal and offensive guard Andy Levitre to season-ending injuries. Linebacker Deion Jones (foot) will have to miss at least eight games after going on injured reserve.___ Lawrence could be an option for the team in this year’s draft."The Atlanta Falcons are beginning to get invested in draft visits and meetings, and another name has surfaced. Clemson defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence has a second meeting with the team scheduled, after bumping elbows with the Birds at the combine. He also spoke to his interest in playing with a former Clemson defensive tackle in Falcons standout Grady Jarrett. Lawrence was a member of that ferocious Clemson defensive front that has three of its players heading into the NFL draft as top-flight prospects (Clellin Ferrell, Christian Wilkins being the other two Kendall Sheffield Atlanta Falcons Jersey , and DE Austin Bryant is expected to go in the mid-rounds). ESPN’s Todd McShay mocked him to Atlanta in December and described as a run-stuffer and an ailing force for Atlanta’s moribund run defense. The team does need some beef up front, and Lawrence certainly seems like he’d be adept in that arena. He was one of the Clemson players who got suspended for a failed drug test before the big playoff games in January, so that might knock him a bit through the Falcons filter. It’s not an eliminating factor, though it’ll certainly be one the team considers, as it always does. Interestingly Kendall Sheffield Jersey 2019 , though, the team’s not scheduled something with Lawrence’s teammate, Wilkins, just as of yet. That could always change. It’s good to see them doing their homework on defensive tackles, and this could very well be the pick as late April grows closer. We’ve got a good bit of time for the team to decide between a defensive end Kendall Sheffield Atlanta Falcons Jersey , defensive tackle, and offensive lineman, as we expect they ultimately will.

What with between vanilla concepts, limited playing time, and so forth. But let’s all take our requisite grains of salt and see how stocks look in the first game of the preseason, and who is and isn’t worthy of the post-game buzz.WINNERS:Kyler MurrayHe completed 6 out of 7 passes, but 7 for 7 in all of our hearts - the #1 overall pick showcased some of his familiarity with the system, easy velocity, and scrambling ability that made him so valuable to the organization. Yeah, he may not have tested the defense deep, but he didn’t look like a rookie in his first action either.Trent SherfieldThe WR3 battle has been among the talk of the offseason. Will it be camp standout KeeSean Johnson? Andy Isabella? Hakeem Butler?Turns out he might have been on the roster all along, as Sherfield netted 4 receptions on 5 targets for a team high 44 yards and the lone receiving touchdown. To add to his night, #16 also showed his case for the roster on special teams coverage.Brett Hundley10 of 14, and 1 passing touchdown. The backup did well! Especially when you consider the offensive line play of the second unit did him no favors. We’ll see if he can continue to keep it up down the preseason stretch, but being able to manage with a backup QB is always a nice luxury to ease the mind.Honorable Mention: Zane Gonzalez drilled a 55 yard field goal with some to spare. Here’s to hoping for a drama-free special teams unit.LOSERS:The DefenseNo Phillip Rivers, no Keenan Allen, and no Melvin Gordon... no problem. For the Chargers’ offense anyway. Things weren’t looking good for the first team unit as they were slowly but surely marched down the field by Tyrod Taylor and Austin Ekeler. A goal line fumble saved the drive, but if you had lingering concerns about the run defense or the new defensive coordinator/system, nothing was done to assuage those fears. The Offensive LineI’d like to give the benefit of the doubt here. New system, new OL coach, new faces... Chemistry and time to gel might be more important to the OL than any other unit, but like the defense, if you had any fears about this unit’s performance, last night didn’t change any of that. On more than one occasion the tackles looked like they weren’t ready for the snap as defenders breezed past them, one such occasion leading to the sack that ended a promising drive that winded up being the only glimpse of the first team offense.Kevin WhiteAfter not being able to practice Tuesday Haason Reddick Cardinals Jersey , White was in sweats watching from the sideline. He has all the athletic potential in the world and familiarity with the system, but he’s on the outside looking in if he can’t manage to be available.Honorable Mention: The fans. oth absolutely dislike each other Armon Watts Minnesota Vikings Jerseys , or both show the upmost respect towards one another. Same goes for the fan base, some hate the other team and its fans, but some fan bases represent their teams well with good sportsmanship. For example, The New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox is a rivalry where each fan base absolutely hates each other. But, at the same time you might respect the rivalry because of the atmosphere it creates. Same goes for the Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers, it’s always a rowdy environment with those two teams. But, without those matchups, honestly the game wouldn’t be the same without that history. That’s how I look at our division, as fans we may not like another divisional team, but we probably respect that team because of the history it created with Minnesota, or because of the teams overall history in the league. Now, all three current NFC North teams all have tremendous history with one another. However Minnesota Vikings Jerseys 2019 , some people like certain matchup more than others, but what team do you actually have the most respect for? Honestly, as a Vikings fan, I despise the Packers. I think mainly because Green Bay is the closet divisional team, but the history the two teams have shared has been nothing short of physical footall. The Bears are “mehh” to me, Chicago is probably the most neutral team in the North. Growing up I had a rivalry with one of my teachers, Marcus Moten who is a die hard Bears fan. Whenever the Bears lost, you knew it was going to be a rough next day for everyone, sometimes I even remember him “catching a cold,” at times. But, it was all fun and games. I grew over this past season to gain some respect for Chicago, they went out and took a dive on Mitchell Trubisky a couple years ago. I sort of admire Matt Nagy and really like what he’s doing in Chicago Armon Watts Jersey nfl draft , I like his offensive mind. It may come as a surprise, but the team I respect the most is probably the Detroit Lions. Three names come to mind when I think of Detroit and that’s Barry Sanders, Calvin “Megatron” Johnson and Matthew Stafford. I’m young, I’m only 22, so I’m going to stick with the people who I actually know. I have the upmost respect for Stafford, he’s a tough, consistent quarterback and doesn’t seem to complain like Aaron Rodgers does. I get that the Lions have a horrible win/loss record against Minnesota, but it’s been since 2011 where Detroit has always given the Vikings a run for its money. The Lions are 9-7 against the Vikings, with a lot of back and forth wins for both teams. Since 2011, Detroit based on records have competed with Minnesota the best in terms of entertaining football. The Lions have a 6-9 record against the Packers and a 9-5 record against the Bears. Overall, I’d like to hear who you respect the most, so please tell me why in the comments!Skol! Name one facet of the Buffalo Bills offense and coach Sean McDermott will point to something in need of drastic improvement. From passing to protection Replica Armon Watts Jersey , receiving to rushing, McDermott on Monday provided a blunt assessment of how anemic the Bills were a day following a 22-0 loss at Green Bay."Where do you want to start?" he said. "Offensively, wasn't good enough at all. Bottom line."A week after rookie quarterback Josh Allen, literally and physically, took a leap forward in his development by hurdling Minnesota linebacker Anthony Barr in a 27-6 win at Minnesota, he and the Bills offense took two 鈥?maybe three 鈥?steps back.Allen completed just five of his first 19 attempts and finished 16 of 33 for 151 yards passing, while being sacked seven times and committing three turnovers (two interceptions and a lost fumble).LeSean McCoy mustered just 24 yards rushing on five carries in a game the Bills managed a season-low 56 plays from scrimmage and had seven three-and-outs. Buffalo was shut out for the first time in 10 years and finished with just 145 yards, matching its worst total since a 40-7 loss at Chicago on Oct. 8, 2006.And Allen is getting hit so often, McDermott expressed concern over whether the first-round draft pick can stay healthy for the remainder of the season to continue his development."In order for the young man to play, he needs to be healthy, and in order for him to be healthy Stitched Armon Watts Jersey , you can't stand back there and take hits," McDermott said. Not all the league-worst 21 sacks Buffalo has surrendered can be blamed on what's been a patchwork offensive line. Allen has been faulted for being indecisive and holding on to the ball too long. The trouble is, the Bills (1-3) have little time to address the numerous issues plaguing their offense in preparing to host the Tennessee Titans (3-1) on Sunday."Didn't do well in any area and that's my responsibility," offensive coordinator Brian Daboll said. "We'll work hard to get it fixed, but at the end of the day just not good enough."It doesn't help that Daboll is in his first year on the job, and overseeing a unit led by a rookie quarterback and a group of unproven receivers behind starter Kelvin Benjamin ."There are no excuses," he said. "We all have a job to do, and we got to make sure we do it well."One issue is Benjamin, the 2014 first-round draft pick whom the Bills acquired in a midseason trade with Carolina a year ago.Benjamin has just seven catches for 92 yards despite being targeted 21 times. His production mirrors that of the rest of Buffalo's receivers, who have combined for 26 catches for 330 yards and one touchdown through four games."I've got a concern with those types of numbers," McDermott said, when informed his receivers are averaging 82.5 yards a game.As for Buffalo's feeble running attack Armon Watts Minnesota Vikings Jerseys , he was critical with how the Bills were pushed around to open the game at Green Bay.After McCoy caught a 7-yard pass on the first play, the Bills were unable to convert a first down. McCoy ran for 2 yards on the next play, and then Chris Ivory was stopped for no gain.McDermott has issues, too, on defense after Buffalo allowed the Packers to convert 11 of 20 third-down situations.Take away a six-quarter stretch spanning the second half of Buffalo's 31-20 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sept. 16 through the end of the Minnesota game, the Bills have been outscored by a combined 103-9, including a season-opening 47-3 loss at Baltimore."My patience hasn't worn thin," McDermott said. "When I see things that are up to our standard, we celebrate those. But when it's not up to our standard, my tolerance is not very high."

n the books Eric Weddle Jersey , Patriots head coach Bill Belichick praised offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels for making an adjustment to the personnel the team was working with on offense. With the Patriots offense sputtering in the fourth quarter, McDaniels went with a package that featured two tight ends, wide receiver Julian Edelman, running back Rex Burkhead and fullback James Develin. That’s a jumbo group, but McDaniels spread them out in an attempt to take advantage of mismatches with linebackers in pass coverage and it worked out with four straight completions to set up Sony Michel‘s go-ahead touchdown run.The Rams didn’t expect that adjustment. Tight end Dwayne Allen told Peter King after the game that the Patriots didn’t have it ready to go either.“It was a pretty amazing thing,’’ Allen said. “Hats off to the Rams. They really knew us. Let’s get this out of the way right now: this isn’t about a writer on a Kansas City Chiefs website being ticked off that his favorite team lost an overtime game without having a chance to possess the ball.Well... maybe it is a little bit.But bear with me.Before 1974 Daniel Sorensen Jersey , regular-season games that were tied when the final gun sounded remained... well, tied. While the NFL and AFL were being run as separate leagues, nobody seemed to care.Ties were just a fact of life. But once the AFL merged with the NFL in 1970, tradition didn’t seem to matter as much. The newly-merged league was willing to tinker with the game.So in 1974, the NFL added sudden-death overtime to regular-season games, so that there wouldn’t be any more of those pesky ties. The ties went away.Well... almost. On September 22, 1974, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos were tied at the end of the fourth quarter, and the new sudden-death overtime rules were tried for the first time.Neither team could score during the overtime period, and the game ended in a 35-35 tie.But it would be the only tie of the year; in the four seasons since the merger, the league averaged seven ties.In 25 of the 45 NFL seasons since overtime was added to regular season games http://www.chiefslockerroom.com/authentic-terrance-smith-jersey , a season ended without a single tie. In three — 1986, 1997, 2016 and 2018 — there were just two.All the rest had only one.But fans still weren’t happy.Too often, a team that won the overtime coin toss would march down the field close enough for a field goal, and then kick one.Game over.“No fair!” cried the fans of the losing teams.“Games are being decided by a coin toss!”And they had a point: it was just too easy to drive into field goal range and put three points on the board to win.So the NFL amended the overtime rules.Henceforth, both teams would have the chance to possess the ball at least once — unless the first team to possess the ball scored a touchdown on their first drive, or the team that didn’t receive the overtime kickoff scored a defensive touchdown on the opening overtime drive. But if the team that didn’t receive the opening overtime kickoff kicked a field goal after the team that did receive the opening kickoff didn’t score on their first drive, then the team that didn’t receive the opening kickoff would win the game. But if neither team could score by the end of the 10-minute overtime period, then the game would end in a tie.Photo by Jamie Squire/Getty ImagesIt’s no wonder that the officials have trouble explaining this arrangement to the team captains before the overtime coin toss. Every time, they explain it as if they aren’t quite sure how it works, either.I always expect one of the players to raise a hand Womens Travis Kelce Jersey , ask a question, and stump the official. But even as balky and strange as these rules are, I can live with them in the regular season. There are legitimate reasons for a tie game in the regular season to be settled quickly — and whatever else is true about the current overtime format, it does do that.If overtime games run too long, TV schedules get messed up, players are subjected to unnecessary risk of injury and so on.After all, back in 1974 — after the first regular-season overtime game in NFL history — Steelers head coach Chuck Noll said, “I have a tired football team that has to get ready for a football game next week. If we’d have one of these every week, it’d kill our team.”But playoff games are another matter entirely.By definition, they cannot end in a tie, and everything is on the line.So as fans of the Chiefs De'Anthony Thomas Jersey , Patriots, Saints and Rams learned on Sunday, the rules are waaaay different: the overtime period is extended to a whole 15 minutes.Uhhh... whaaat?Don’t get me wrong: The Patriots and Rams are in the Super Bowl fair and square. They won the games under the rules that now stand. But existing overtime rules — which are perfectly fine when all that is at stake is a half-game in the standings — are insufficient in a single-elimination tournament. When an entire season is on the line, it just doesn’t seem right for a coin toss to hold that much sway.Based on the way they played in the fourth quarter, is there any fan who would have bet against the Chiefs winning the game if they had won the coin toss? Or against the Patriots because they did win it?Based on the way both teams played in the fourth quarter, is there any fan who didn’t want to see the Chiefs come back on the field to answer the Patriots’ overtime drive?Nate Scott of USA Today’s For The Win voices a similar sentiment:At The Sporting News, Mike DeCourcey speaks of the “absurdity of the NFL’s overtime rule.”The Kansas City Star’s Vahe Gregorian pulls out an impressive array of adjectives to express his outrage.Across the country — not just in Kansas City — pundits are calling for a change. And oddsmakers are already taking bets on whether or not the rules will change for 2019.In SBNation’s regular reminder that college overtime rules would improve the NFL playoffs, Jason Kirk says that college overtime rules — while not perfect — are at least fair.Over at The Daily Norseman — our sister SBNation site covering the Minnesota Vikings — Ted Glover proposes a variation of the college overtime format.I think there’s a lot of merit to an idea similar to the collegiate format. It’s easy to understand, entertaining and fast. Both teams get to put their offenses and defenses on the field. Even special teams can play a role. For determining a half-game shift in the standings — that is, in the regular season — I think something like the collegiate overtime setup would be great. But in a single-elimination tournament? No, thanks. Would it be OK for a tie at the end of a March Madness game to be decided by a game of H-O-R-S-E?In Sports Illustrated’s MMQB Podcast http://www.chiefslockerroom.com/authentic-eric-murray-jersey , Gary Gramling argues that in the playoffs, all three phases should come into play for both teams. And finally... there’s an idea I can get behind. In the postseason — when the loser has to go home for good — they should play the same game they started 60 minutes ago.Flip a coin. The team that wins the toss can choose to kick off or receive — and under this setup, they might choose to do either. Each team gets two timeouts.A full 15-minute period is played under normal rules, with normal two-minute rules at the end of the period. If one team is ahead at the end, the game is over. But if the game is still tied at the end of that period, the teams swap ends — just as they do after the first and third quarters — and keep playing additional periods until one team takes the lead; the only change is that after the first overtime period, it’s two-minute rules and sudden death. If a game is decided under such a format, no one could claim that the overtime format was to blame — or gave a particular team an advantage — because it’s hardly different than a normal game.If you can’t win such a game, you didn’t deserve to win it in the first place. And it sure would be nice to write (or read) about an epic game where two great teams exchanged blows for an extra quarter to decide the winner — rather than yet another article about how the NFL needs to fix yet another problem of its own making.

Thcking off in their Week 6 game against the Chicago Bears. The Dolphins only face the Bears once every four years as the NFL rotates game between divisions in the opposing conference. With the AFC East facing the NFC North this year Christian Wilkins Jersey Mens , the Dolphins get to welcome the Bears back to Miami, where the South Florida team is 4-3 all time against the Monsters of the Midway - including the 1985 38-24 defeat of the Bears, preventing an undefeated season. It has been four years since Miami last played the Bears, with the Dolphins winning 27-14 in Chicago. The last time this matchup was in Miami, Chicago beat the Dolphins 16-0. What will happen in this year’s contest? To get a better idea of who the Bears are and what Miami should expect, earlier this week I had a chance to talk to Jeff Berckes from Windy City Gridiron. You can check out my responses to his Dolphins questions as well - including the random conversation that sprung up from one of my answers. On to the questions:1. Obviously, the story of the Chicago Bears so far this year has been the defense and the addition of Khalil Mack. He has been a menace already this season, but he is not the only strength of the Bears defense. What should Miami expect this weekend and where can they attack and find success? It’s been so much fun and talk about a perfect fit. The Bears have such a storied history of linebackers that the fan base truly appreciates a guy of his abilities. His jersey shot up the leader board to the top 5 best selling jerseys in the preseason... and he didn’t get traded until after the preseason games were over! They simply couldn’t make them fast enough for this linebacker loving franchise to add a #52 jersey to their rotation. He has taken this defense from a good unit to being the talk of the NFL through September. Because of the attention he demands, he’s been able to unlock other really good players with one on one match ups. That has helped players like Akiem Hicks and Eddie Goldman along the line, and has improved the secondary by shortening the amount of time in coverage and forcing errant throws for the taking. The best stat that sums up the fast start this defense has had is they led the league in sacks with the lowest blitz percentage in the league. They want to attack offenses by playing advantageous coverages and beating your linemen with a four man rush. They have speed at the inside linebacker position to take away the underneath routes, and emerging playmakers in the secondary to take advantage of mistakes. If that wasn’t enough - they lead the league against the run. So how can the Dolphins find success? Force the Bears offense into a lot of short possessions and try and maintain control of the ball for as long as possible to keep that defense on the field and tire them out. Once the pass rush slows down Miami Dolphins Jersey 2019 , take your chances down the field on slow developing routes and shot plays. 2. Chicago is 24th in the league in yards per game, gaining 341.0, but are ninth in the league in rushing yards per game at 121.5 and seventh in the league in points per game at 27.8. Is the rushing attack all Jordan Howard? Is it the offensive line? And, are the Bears just not relying on Mitchell Trubisky, or is the passing offense struggling? Should we expect to see more from Trubisky after the Week 4 destruction of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers? That’s a lot of questions! The short answer on some of this is that we need more data to figure out what this offense is going to be. Trubisky is still very young and inexperienced. He’s learning a new offense from a first year Head Coach who is still trying to figure a lot of things out himself. The receiving corps is completely new via Free Agency (Allen Robinson II, Taylor Gabriel, and Trey Burton) and the draft (Anthony Miller). These things take time. As for the running game, there were some rumors swirling about an offseason trade of Jordan Howard and those have resurfaced recently. Tarik Cohen had a big game against the Bucs, but I’m not sure how sustainable that is versus what a stout back like Howard can bring. The offensive line is good, but seemingly unsettled as rookie James Daniels is fighting for a starting spot at LG and eventually he should be the starting Center. It’s a tantalizing one-two punch if they can get both going consistently. I think the Bucs were a perfect storm of terrible for Trubisky to take advantage of. Tons of injuries in the secondary and incredibly bland and predictable zone coverage. Trubisky made some great throws and also had some throws that were schemed open with great play calls. I have a much higher opinion of the Dolphins secondary so I’d expect a more balanced attack. 3. Who on the Bears do Dolphins fans not know but will after the game? The Eddie’s! Eddie Jackson is a play making Free Safety in his second year who is off to a fast start. He has seemingly put it all together early this year and is starting to make a lot of plays. Eddie Goldman plays the nose and just earned a contract extension before the season started. He’s amazing against the run, which is nice Walt Aikens Jersey , but he’s able to really push the pocket too. He’s such an underrated piece of the front 7 to the casual fan but very much appreciated by the staff at Windy City Gridiron.4. There is talk among Dolphins fans that Adam Gase needs to stop calling plays and turn that duty over to offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains. I was speaking to another Bears fan earlier this week, and he almost became hysterical with laughter at that idea and said in no uncertain terms that Loggains calling plays would be a horrible idea. Given the Bears’ two-year stint with Loggains as the offensive coordinator after Gase left Chicago, what are your thoughts of him as a play caller? So, here’s what’s funny. As I read the first sentence, I started to laugh out loud when I got to Dowell Loggains. The Bears have had some terrible play callers and while Loggains probably isn’t the worst, he’s on the short list. Seriously, he’s someone I wouldn’t wish on a friendly franchise like the Dolphins (the Packers, sure, he’d be great for them...). You hired Gase for a reason - either he’s the answer or you start over next off season. It ‘aint Dowell. Side note: Loggains looks like Patton Oswalt. Like if for some reason they make a movie of the 2018 Dolphins, Oswalt is the first person cast. 5. The Bears are sitting alone atop the NFC North, with the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings each 2-2-1 Kiko Alonso Jersey , while Chicago is 3-1. Are fan expectations now that the Bears are winning the division this year?I think “expectation” is a strong word. I think Bears fans now believe that the division is a possibility, but certainly not an expectation. The Vikings have a good team even if they’re out to a slow start and the Packers have Aaron Rodgers and his fire-breathing dragon abilities. Until they’re slain, nothing is an expectation. I’d say the aim is a little higher than it was in August though, where most of the talk was to avoid another losing season and maybe stay relevant until late in the year. Not for nothing, but Vegas had the Bears at 6.5 wins in August. If Xavien Howard has his way, he will remain in Miami as one of the league’s highest-paid cornerbacks. Howard, fresh off his first Pro Bowl, is eligible for a new deal this season. The sides have yet to begin talks as Howard said the Dolphins are not “in a rush to do anything.”Howard said after the season finale he wanted to be the NFL’s highest-paid cornerback, which currently is

"The players bailed me out, finding a way to win."The Rams don't normally take the field in these kinds of conditions. To prepare, quarterback Jared Goff tried out gloves on both hands in pregame and went with them during the contest."It's kind of a give-and-take and I felt more comfortable with them," explained Goff Womens David Long Jersey , who was 14 of 28 for 201 yards and one interception. "We are from Los Angeles, where it is hot and it's cold here. Having to go through that, feeling the cold, getting through that with a win is great. "I think we kind of showed the world, that just because you're from L.A., you can play in any kind of weather as long as you mentally prepare for it."Offensive lineman Rob Havenstein played at Wisconsin David Long Los Angeles Rams Jerseys , where cold-weather games happen with frequency. But that was a few seasons ago. He's grown accustomed to the California sun since being selected by the Rams in the second round of the 2015 draft."I'm not as hardened as I once was in Wisconsin," cracked Havenstein, whose work up front with his fellow linemen allowed the Rams to finish with 270 yards on the ground. "This wasn't too cold. The wind wasn't breezy or anything like that. It wasn't snow flying down. It was cool getting in a little snow game."About that, tailback Malcolm Brown doesn't consider this a snow game even if there were a few flurries. Being from Texas, he wants his first snow game to be filled with plenty of accumulation."It was fun anyway," said Brown, who finished with 24 yards on five carries. "I'll play in any weather, as long as I'm playing ball."The cooler conditions didn't bother defensive tackle Aaron Donald. Defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo is putting something similar in place in Kansas City and Okafor should have a prominent role as long as he’s healthy enough to be on the field. Using pick No. 29, the Seahawks would go on to select Washington cornerback Hunt, the Chiefs have to consider Clark’s off-the-field issues, which we detailed in the original post below. Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer also includes this point in his latest column. Right or wrong Mitchell Schwartz Jersey , by trading for Clark, the Chiefs could be teetering toward a Dallas Cowboys-like punchline. As a reminder, because Clark can block a deal by not signing his tag, the Chiefs would most likely need to sign Clark to a long-term deal to make it happen. We will see how it all plays out.ORIGINAL POST: Monday, April 15, 2019Could Seahawks DE Frank Clark be traded to the Chiefs? Are the Kansas City Chiefs in the mix to acquire Seattle Seahawks defensive end Frank Clark? After a report a couple of days ago from The Athletic’s Jay Glazer that said trade talks for Clark had “died down Juan Thornhill Kansas City Chiefs Jerseys ,” Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk essentially said not so fast on Sunday night.Standing at 6 feet 3 and 273 pounds, Clark fits the profile of the type of defensive end that Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo likes. He is also a former second-rounder, which plays right into the wheelhouse of Chiefs general manager Brett Veach. The 25-year-old Clark had nine or more sacks in each of the last three seasons, but the Seahawks are dealing with a situation involving having to potentially sign quarterback Russell Wilson to a new contract and may feel comfortable with more cap space. There are several things to consider if a trade for Clark were going to happen.First, since Seattle has tagged Clark at the rate of $17.128 million for the 2019 season, he would have to sign the tender. Clark could easily block a trade by refusing to sign. He also may not sign unless there was a long-term deal coming at his next destination. The value of that hypothetical long-term deal increased thanks to Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence’s new contract: five-years for $105 million ($65 million guaranteed).Second Kansas City Chiefs Jerseys 2019 , a team would have to send the Seahawks some value back. Maybe it is as easy as the 2020 second-rounder the Chiefs received from the San Francisco 49ers for Dee Ford. Perhaps it’s more. Finally, Clark has a connection to domestic violence in his past and was convicted in 2012 on felony home-invasion charges. Clark was kicked off the Michigan football team after his arrest in connection to domestic violence. I don’t know if the Chiefs and Clark Hunt would be willing to actively take on another player connected to an off-the-field issue.

Despite the growing consensus saying the Cardinals will select Kyler Murray, Steve Keim did a good job convincing most people that taking a quarterback with their first round pick is a possibility. But we can limit the choices down to three prospects. Either Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray, Ohio State DE Nick Bosa, or Alabama DT Quinnen Williams will be the first pick. Unless they decide to trade down, one of those players will be a Cardinal. After that Youth D.J. Swearinger Jersey , the Cardinals also own the first pick on day two of the draft. The possibilities for that pick are endless. The Cardinals still need defensive line help even after the addition of Darius Philon in free agency. If they select Quinnen Williams in the first round, I wouldn’t expect another defensive linemen to be selected at no. 33.There is a big need at the wide receiver position. A.J. Brown, Parris Campbell, N’Keal Harry, and Deebo Samuel could be the targets with that pick. All of them have played on the outside. If the Cardinals take a receiver with that pick, this will allow Christian Kirk to return to his natural position in the slot. Whether or not Kevin White is part of their future plans beyond 2019 is still up in the air.Even with the additions of J.R. Sweezy and Marcus Gilbert, they are only short-term answers. The Cardinals have already expressed interest in Boston College OG Chris Lindstrom and Texas A&M G/C Erik McCoy. They are two of the few standout players in a thin interior offensive linemen class. If the Cardinals want another swiss-army knife prospect to replace John Wetzel Stitched Marcus Gilbert Jersey , Kansas State’s Dalton Risner would be their guy.How about addressing the cornerback position? Robert Alford will turn 31 in November and we still don’t know if he’ll be any good. But what we do know is that there is a need for a slot cornerback and the draft is loaded in that position. Cardinals love versatility and a player like Florida’s Chauncey Gardner-Johnson would make a lot of sense. He played both slot cornerback and safety. DeAndre Baker apparently did not do well in his interviews and his stock will drop as a result. Keep in mind, he was the top cornerback in college football last season. Lonnie Johnson, Trayvon Mullen, and Amani Oruwariye are all big corners with speed that have had success in press-man coverage.I can keep going on about the many players that the Cardinals could select with their second-round pick but the article would never end.Who would you like to see them take with the no. 33 overall pick?

ATLANTA (AP) an two weeks from now Giorgio Tavecchio Jersey 2019 , legions of police and federal agents will be positioned to protect fans inside and outside the Atlanta stadium where the New England Patriots and the Los Angeles Rams face off.The game will bring international attention, which makes it a potential target for terrorism, said Brian Levin, a former New York City police officer who is director of the Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism at California State University, San Bernardino.“We fortify these events because we have to,” Levin said. “They’re the brightest bug lamps that attract an array of possible extremists and also unstable people as well.”Authorities won’t discuss specifics of their security plan. But they say they will safeguard areas beyond the downtown Mercedes-Benz Stadium and make officers visible across the city. The city’s police department has worked with more than 40 state, federal and local law enforcement agencies to develop the plan, Atlanta Police Chief Erika Shields said. Officers will work 12-hour shifts and will “position ourselves so that we can react immediately to whatever scenario we are confronted with,” Shields said. The chief said law enforcers have been preparing for two years, during which time they visited Super Bowls in Houston and Minneapolis to observe safety measures taken by their counterparts.Recent attacks in the U.S. and around the world have taught authorities that they must be prepared to defend more than the obvious targets.Atlanta knows this well. During the Olympic Games in 1996, a man set off a pipe bomb at Centennial Olympic Park, a downtown public space that lacked the high security of the athletic venues and Olympic Village where athletes were staying. Shrapnel from the bomb tore through a crowd of concertgoers on July 27, 1996 Black Logan Paulsen Jersey , killing a woman who was hit in the skull with a nail, and wounding more than 100 others.“Our main focus at that time was on the Olympic Village,” said Richard Stogner, who was in charge of finances for the Olympics and as such was involved in security meetings weeks and months before the games. Stogner witnessed the deadly violence from his office overlooking the park. He recalled walking onto his balcony and seeing a large cloud of white smoke and at least a couple of people lying on the ground.Shields said there was a desire at the time to make the park “family friendly,” so the decision was made to keep security more lax there.“In hindsight, that was a mistake,” she said.In the days leading up to the Super Bowl on Feb. 3, the park — which has been closed off with high chain-link fencing in some places — will play a central role as it hosts numerous concerts and other game-related celebrations. In addition to increased security around the city, Atlanta Fire Rescue will put some of its paramedics on bicycles so they can reach patients in areas crowded with pedestrians, Chief Randall Slaughter said. And Shields noted that a joint operations center that will also include officials from Georgia Power and the city’s mass transit system is set to open Saturday.Authorities will not take their preparations for granted, however, because terrorists “never stop creating, they never stop thinking Logan Paulsen Jersey 2019 ,” Shields said.In Atlanta in 1996, “the guy just decided that he wanted to blow up people, so he set a bomb off,” Stogner said. “That’s hard to prepare for.”During a soccer game between France and Germany near Paris in November 2015, it was outside the stadium where suicide bombers blew themselves up, killing a bystander. And in May 2017, it was as fans left a concert by singer Ariana Grande in Manchester, England, that a bomb was detonated, killing more than 20 and wounding more than 100.In recent years, threats have evolved from large terrorist groups to small cells or “lone wolves” who can be harder to identify. Some become radicalized on the internet, borrowing hatred from other groups and blending it with their own views, Levin noted. The motives of others are difficult to discern Qadree Ollison Atlanta Falcons Jersey , such as the sniper in a Las Vegas high-rise who opened fire on an outdoor country music concert, killing 58 people and wounding more than 800 others in October 2017, Levin said.Cedrick Alexander, a former public safety director in the metro Atlanta county of DeKalb, said he believes Atlanta “is going to be one of the most-prepared cities in America” because of its experience handling national events. But he notes that the lesson of the Las Vegas massacre is that “you have to be prepared for anything.”Falcons 101: A hateful series with the Saints The most underrated rivalry in professional sports will be renewed this weekend in Atlanta. The Falcons and the Saints hate each other more than the city of New Orleans hates the phrase “10 seconds left.” In a series dating all the way back to Nov. 26, 1967, the NFL’s version of “Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate” (well, not too clean since that whole “Bounty-gate” thing happened) is set to hold its 99th game on Sunday. Drew Brees, Matt Ryan, Steve Gleason, Steve Bartkowski, and Archie Manning. In 98 regular season games Color Rush Qadree Ollison Jersey , all of them of made significant impacts that stand out amongst all the others. While I have only been alive for 23 years of this rivalry, the amount of history and hatred that exists between these two franchises has always surprised me. It is the closest thing the NFL has to a college football rivalry, and it genuinely feels like the game is always a good one no matter how good or bad either team is. The series between these two has been going on for 51 seasons. Out of the 102 seasons between either team, there have only been 28 winning seasons for the two franchises: 15 for the Falcons, 13 for the Saints. This series is about a whole lot more than numbers but we’ll Digg into some stats just in Case they come up later on. 51-46*The Falcons lead the series 51-46 in 98 games—52-46 if we include postseason games, though. Atlanta owns the lone victory in a postseason game between the two franchises: a 27-20 victory in New Orleans on Dec. 28, 1991. While Atlanta leads the overall series, the picture favors New Orleans when it comes to recent games. Since 2008, the Saints have beaten the Falcons 12 times, while Atlanta only holds eight wins in that time. Atlanta’s recent outlookIn the last decade, the Saints and Falcons have played 20 games, 10 at home and 10 in New Orleans. Of those 10 home games, the Falcons are 5-5 and have struggled to consistently beat the Saints in Atlanta. One of the key factors in the overall 8-12 record against New Orleans since Matt Ryan entered the league is the amount of pressure the Saints are able to get on the Atlanta quarterback. Since Qadree Ollison Atlanta Falcons Jersey , 2008 the Falcons are 2-6 when they allow two sacks or more. New Orleans has had three (!!!) five-sack games against Ryan and the Falcons—all of them losses for Atlanta. Despite this, Matt Ryan typically plays pretty well against the Saints: 64 percent completion rate, 32 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. All of that while being sacked just under two times per game. Series quick-hittersAtlanta’s biggest win in the series came on Sept. 16, 1973 when they beat the Saints 62-7 in New Orleans. The Falcons’ biggest loss was on Nov. 1, 1987 when the Saints shut them out while scoring 38 points. A whopping 38-0 loss at home. Dan Quinn lost his first two matchups against the Saints, but has since gone 3-1, bringing his overall record agains New Orleans to 3-3.

EDTYesterday, Baltimore’s first-round pick Marquise Brown was absent from practice and some of the team’s fanbase predictably began to freak out and panic. “Bad pick”. “Injury prone”. These were just some of the accusations made by individuals. Obviously, none of these statements hold much weight and are merely reactionary judgements to a situation that calls for the exact opposite. Is “Hollywood” getting full-speed reps the ideal scenario? Sure. However, is it worrisome that he missed one day of practice? Absolutely not - and here’s why. From the moment the Ravens drafted Marquise Brown, everyone involved knew that he was in the process of recovering from a lisfranc injury he suffered towards the end of his last season in Oklahoma. Everyone also knew, most importantly the front office, coaching staff, and trainers, that the rehab process was going to be a long one. The initial timeline set by the organization was training camp. After continuing to rehab during OTA’s and minicamp, Brown began practicing in limited fashion a few weeks ago and on Saturday, he participated in 7-on-7 drills for the first time. The Ravens are slowly increasing his workload in preparation for the season, which was the plan all along. The fact that he’s begun full-speed participation is encouraging stuff. By all accounts, Brown has looked exactly as advertised since he began practicing. He’s running fast, catching passes, and his route-running has looked sharp and crisp. Check out this play below from Sunday’s practice. In this clip, it doesn’t even look like Brown is running full speed and he still had to slow up a bit to make the reception from Lamar Jackson. Needless to say playing with Brown will take some getting used to for QB1 Stitched Tony Jefferson Jersey , as he’s never played with a receiver as athletic as #15. It’s important to remember that prior to training camp, Brown was essentially on the shelf for half a year. This isn’t to say he wasn’t working out and following a training regimine, but in terms on on-field football work, he was absent or limited for a prolonged period of time. For any player, returning from an injury like the lisfranc condition takes some getting used to, but especially if you’re a receiver. Brown’s game is dependent on his ability to sprint, accelerate, make sharp cuts, and plant his feet. Much of this is sharpened with timing and repetition, and Brown is just now making up for lost time while he was absent during his recovery. Considering the nature of the injury at play, his stature, and his position, the fact that he’s looked this fast and smooth since joining the offense is a positive. The most important and positive development surrounding the rookie wideout, however, is obvious: No. Setbacks. Unless there’s something going on behind the scenes that nobody else knows about, Brown hasn’t suffered any setbacks from his initial injury. His absence from practice yesterday appears to be merely a precautionary measure after Brown’s first two days of full-contact work. John Harbaugh echoed as such while addressing the media post-practice. “Just recovering Youth Tony Jefferson Jersey , you know,” Harbaugh said. “We don’t have any serious injuries, and it’s just part of the process.” In a sense, our reaction to the team holding Brown out of practice should actually be on the happier side. That may sound weird, but think about it. After the Breshad Perriman disaster and the struggles of Hayden Hurst after returning from foot surgery last season, it appears the Ravens have learned their lesson. Perhaps they mishandled the injuries of those two players in recent years and are making a concentrated effort not to do the same with their latest first-round draft selection and pass-catcher. They’ve gone about his progression the right way - patience, constructiveness, and routine - and after maybe failing in these areas with some of their prior draft investments, this is an encouraging sign. Fans are predictably worried that Brown will be yet another failed project and injury prone player. It’s entirely too early to say such and frankly unfair. As his first ever draft selection as the team’s GM, Eric DeCosta made a big investment by selecting Brown. While on the phone with the rookie on draft night, DeCosta himself claimed the two would be “joined at the hip” for years to come. When you make such a big investment in anything, but especially in the NFL, you treat it with delicacy - as the Ravens are doing with “Hollywood”. He has the potential to be a significant contributor for Baltimore and star receiver in the league, but only if health permits. The regular season is still roughly a month away. The best and smartest thing to do until then is reserve our judgement and let Brown’s development play out. In due time, we’ll see if the doubters are vindicated. For now, though Stitched Willie Snead Jersey , any jumps to conclusions are foolish. No player ever wants to get released. But for former Ravens safety Eric Weddle, getting his freedom at least gives him a head start on a market that’s glutted with top-end players at his position.Weddle told Jeff Zrebiec of that his release wasn’t really a surprise, and that he wasn’t really broken-hearted from a business standpoint.“We’ll probably take a couple of trips here in the next few days and make a decision,” Weddle said. “I’m in a great spot. The longer I wait, the teams are going to move on to the other guys.”From that standpoint, Weddle and Eric Reid could be the winners in this market, even if they aren’t the highest-paid. Reid took an extension from the Panthers last month, securing his bag before there were more hands trying to snatch it.Five of the top 17 players on PFT’s Free Agent Top 100 list happen to play the same position (Landon Collins, Earl Thomas, Tyrann Mathieu, Adrian Amos, and Lamarcus Joyner), and there are plenty of other qualified starters who will be available on March 13.So if Weddle can get in now, he can get his money before many of the other have a chance.

But I 'ole'ed' outside, so I knew I needed to get back down to be able to make the tackle. I just saw the ball and I just grabbed it."Miller said in the lead-up to the opener that he hates playing Wilson, whom he considers the best QB in the game. Yes Stitched Christian McCaffrey Jersey , ahead of Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees, the only three who were ranked higher in The Associated Press quarterback rankings that came out Friday."I still don't like playing against Russell," Miller said. "Running around out there, 20 yards, getting everybody tired. Luckily, we were able to get him before he could get started. That was in our scheme this week, we wanted to keep him in the pocket and (make) him beat us with his arm, which he's capable of doing."But we'd rather pick that poison and that strategy worked."Wilson threw for 298 yards and three TDs, but was picked off twice and sacked six times and ran just twice for 5 yards."He got out of the pocket a couple of times, but that's Russ," Miller said. "He's a great player. He's going to get out of the pocket, but we kept some of the great plays to a minimum."Miller didn't get to face Wilson in Super Bowl 48 because he'd blown out a knee toward the end of the 2013 season Youth Marquis Haynes Jersey , the only one in his first seven years in the NFL when he didn't reach double digits in sacks.Miller was back in the Super Bowl two years later and won the game's MVP honors after harassing Cam Newton, whom he strip sacked twice, leading to 15 points in Denver's 24-10 win over the Panthers. The Broncos haven't been back to the playoffs since, going 14-18 over the past two years.Although Miller collected 23陆 sacks in that time, too many deficiencies on the roster and deficits on the scoreboard kept him from being the difference maker he was Sunday. That doesn't mean he saw his performance as anything more than a good start."You know me, I never move faster than I have to. I never move slower than I need to," Miller said. "I just stay in the moment. We've got a great team. We got a great win today. We played great defense. This is how you want to start a season."His three sacks moved him into 50th on the NFL's all-time sack list with 86陆."It's great, to be 29 and in the top 50, the league has been around for close to 100 years now," Miller said. "It's great, man. It's a true blessing."At one point Sunday, the giant scoreboard showed Miller inhaling oxygen on the sideline after one of his big plays and the crowd roared."I wasn't even paying attention and I look up and Case is telling everybody to be quiet," Miller recounted. "I kind of felt bad for a second."It wasn't the only time Miller interrupted Keenum's focus Stitched Marquis Haynes Jersey , either.Keenum normally spends his time between series on the bench studying pictures of formations and talking with to his coaches, "but it's hard not to notice when the crowd's going crazy and Von's out there crawling or whatever he's doing, whatever his sack dance is. That's impressive to watch."I'm glad I'm on the sidelines when he's on the field, that's for sure."Wilson wasn't so lucky."I think that when it's third-and-3 or 4, I've spun out and make a lot of plays," Wilson said. "I would probably say most of the time it works."With a guy like Von, sometimes it doesn't." The Panthers have made their first big splash into the free agent pool." And to have, at the end of the day, four picks in the top 100 instead of just three. So that was the rationale behind that move.”(On if it became apparent early on that a player they wanted wouldn’t be available with the 31stpick)McVay: “Yeah, I think the good thing is that a lot of the things that we anticipated ended up playing itself out. It kind of went according to what we had thought in a lot of instances. There’s always a couple surprises, but I think like what we talked about over and over, there was a lot of different scenarios that we had played through. This was certainly one that we anticipated and again, it’s something we feel really good about. I think the biggest thing is when you look at the entirety of having those four picks in the top 100, the thorough job that Les and his group in working in coordination with our coaching staff, we feel really good about coming away with four good football players. But yes, throughout the day I’d gotten calls. And like in all of those situations we had to get to (No.) 31, their player that they desired had to be there, and obviously the players that we might have desired there couldn’t have been there, so you never truly know. I can honestly tell you that we didn’t really agree to the deal until I think it was two picks, but I think Atlanta had two players they would trade for, so once it got down to one pick between us and they knew they could get their two, so we agreed to the deal.”(On how much their previous success of drafting players in the middle rounds has on their current strategy)Snead: “I think it’s a big part. Again, that’s subjective – we still have to draft right and develop right. Sometimes you might scout right and then you know that – wait a minute – there might not be players at the positions you’d prefer that are worthy and maybe, if you felt that way you might hold pat and pick. So, that definitely plays into it.”(On having no first-round picks three years in a row and if that feels normal now)McVay: “It feels par for the course. There’s going to be a lot of really good football players that are drafted tomorrow for a lot of different teams and we’re very hopeful that with the way that we’ve got this thing set up and what we anticipate for tomorrow and what the game plan is, that we feel really good about the four players. And we are going to feel good just based on the entirety of the way that our top-100 is set. And that’s the thing that you feel great about. I think we can be a little bit more specific and strategic now going into year three. So Dakota Allen Jersey nfl draft , we were able to make those kinds of decisions to move back, get more players, because there’s a good pool of guys and a lot of the specific things that we’re looking at – really, for our football team. I think that approach enables us to really be intentional about the four guys that we’ll end up – or however it plays out. So, that’s a good thing for us.”(On if there are guys on their list that have not been drafted yet)Snead: “Yes. if they weren’t I don’t think we would have done the trade back. So, they’re definitely there. Again – you talk about your top-100 though, let’s say we have 30 guys that we really, really like, but you know they go all 30 in a row. That’s never occurred in my lifetime. Then you’d be like, ‘oh, jeez, those third rounders weren’t so popular.’ But, doing this for a few years, that never happens.”(On if there’s anything about the first round of the draft that really surprised them)Snead: “Every now and then there’s a few names that are maybe surprising. But, a little bit what (Head Coach) Sean (McVay) alluded to – and we probably noticed this in the last five years, when you get in the 20’s – because the draft’s obviously a great piece of content for ESPN and NFL Network – but, you hear all these names that are floated Infant Dakota Allen Jersey , usually it’s about 15 to 20 and then in the 20’s teams start maybe scouting specifically for schemes. That’s why you feel like, okay, if you analyze the data really good football players in the second and third. But, when you’re picking 28 it’s not a lot difference between 28 and let’s call it 34. I guess if it’s a first rounder versus second. In math, it’s 34 minus 28 since I’ve already made one error tonight, I’m not going to go on record with that, but… (laughs).”(On what they will do when they get back to the draft room and if they are glad they have the night to sleep on their decisions for tomorrow)Snead: “I definitely think so. I was telling (Director of Pro Scouting) Ray Agnew earlier this week, in the old days it was a Saturday, Sunday draft, where all of the sudden you went right in to the second round. When we first made the change you were like, ‘Oh, I kind of liked it the old way.’ But, now that you’ve been able to get that pause, sit down and re-strategize, think through things, I do think I like it this way personally better.”McVay: “Yeah, absolutely. The more time that you have Super Bowl Dakota Allen Jersey , the better. And to be able to regroup and look at the guys that have really eliminated themselves from really even being an option for us just clears things up and gives us a little bit more time to really tighten up the game plan for tomorrow. So, that’s always a good thing.” All the great Rams links this Tuesday for your enjoyment!" On Sunday Demarcus Robinson Jersey , the Kansas6-14 at Arrowhead Stadium, extending their record to 9-1 on the season. Here are five hot takes from the game:1. Patrick Mahomes is mortalPhoto by David Eulitt/Getty ImagesIt seems a bit ridiculous to say such a thing about a quarterback who just broke a franchise passing touchdown that has stood for more than 50 years — especially when he did it in only 10 games — but it’s nonetheless true. But here is the amazing thing: it’s not because Mahomes threw three picks, or was suddenly unable to make plays under an unrelenting pass rush. That’s what you’d usually see with a first-year starter when he’s sacked five times for the first time in his career. But it’s not what we saw from Mahomes.Even though he threw for less than 300 yards for the first time since Week 1, he still completed 75 percent of his throws and ended the game with a stellar passer rating of 125.4.On two different drives, he picked up first downs with his legs.Unlike so many other players with his experience, he kept his cool and didn’t make mistakes trying to make plays that weren’t there. This young man is smart, fearless — and even better — unflappable.Even with an offensive line that was — for the first time this season — unable to protect him adequately, he didn’t let it affect him and played a solid game. This young man may be mortal, but that’s OK.The greatest quarterbacks who have ever played this game have been mortal, too. There’s no doubt in my mind: he’s going to stand among them — if not above them.2. The Cardinals defense is no jokePhoto by Jamie Squire/Getty ImagesHead coach Andy Reid told us this week that the Cardinals defense wasn’t a defense we should overlook.“Defensively, they are as good as anybody in the National Football League,” Reid said during his Wednesday press conference. “We have to make sure that we get ourselves ready on both sides of the ball.”We often tend to dismiss these kinds of remarks from head coaches in the week before the game — especially if the team in question is 2-6.After all, no head coach is going to stand before the press and say that the upcoming opponent is terrible! But in this case, Reid was right. We knew Arizona’s main problem was its offense — teams don’t tend to dismiss their offensive coordinators at midseason when the offense is doing well — and still, many fans confidently predicted the Chiefs would hang 40 points on the Cardinals. But then Arizona held the red-hot Chiefs offense to just 26 points — the fewest number of points they’ve scored this season.Without Justin Houston’s fourth-quarter interception — which gave the Chiefs the ball at the Cardinals’ 31 — it’s entirely possible the Chiefs wouldn’t have scored again after Mahomes’ record-setting touchdown pass in the second quarter. If new offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich can get the offense playing well, the Cardinals could be a tough team to beat down the stretch.Thankfully, that problem will be left for other teams to solve.3. For a change, the Chiefs defense was no jokePhoto by David Eulitt/Getty ImagesThe Chiefs held the Cardinals to just 260 yards of offense, which should allow the Chiefs defense to inch up a bit in the total yardage rankings that its detractors have been watching so intently this season. But the bigger story is that the Chiefs held the Cardinals to just 14 points — one of the lowest point totals of the season. To be sure, this was against an offense that hasn’t been very impressive to date, so let’s not get too excited about that. But it’s OK to gain some confidence in a defense that continues to make plays when it matters most — with two timely interceptions and several sacks at key moments in the game. This is especially true when you consider that at first glance, Leftwich appeared to do exactly what AP’s Craig Stout was worried about this week: to have a game plan that depended on a running game and short passes that would force the Chiefs into staying in their base alignment. Cardinals running back David Johnson — whom Revenge of the Birds writer Seth Cox warned us was a player to watch — had 183 yards from scrimmage, but the Cardinals only scored on two of their 11 drives.Whether the Chiefs can continue to do as well if a more potent offense attempts a similar game plan — for example, one (or both) of those NFL teams from Los Angeles — remains to be seen. But for the moment, the Chiefs defense picked a great week to hold the opponent to so few points.Without their effort, the Chiefs could easily have lost this game.4. Not-so-special special teamsMark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY SportsBased on what he said on Wednesday, Andy Reid was also concerned about the Arizona Cardinals on special teams.“They have tremendous talent there on special teams,” he told the press on Wednesday. “You have to make sure you solidify and get down their scheme, and are able to adjust to their speed there.”Reid’s worry on this aspect of the matchup with the Cardinals was also justified. Not only did the Cardinals nearly pull off a surprise onside kick in the first half Sammy Watkins Jersey , they also held Tremon Smith — who has been averaging 33.8 yards per return so far this season— to just 22 yards on two returns.Meanwhile, Cardinals kick returner T.J. Logan averaged 29.7 yards per return, and the special teams unit’s lone highlight of the game — an 82-yard punt return for a touchdown by Tyreek Hill — was nullified by a penalty on Demetrius Harris.I don’t want to be too hard on Dave Toub.We have come to expect a very high level of performance from his unit. This game, however, wasn’t its finest hour. All of that said, it’s worth mentioning that the player who came through for the Chiefs on the onside kick play was none other than rookie Ben Niemann. We need to keep our eye on this kid. 5. Ladies and gentlemen... Chris JonesDenny Medley-USA TODAY SportsWith all the focus on Dee Ford becoming a top player on the Kansas City defense in 2018, we really haven’t paid enough attention to third-year player Chris Jones. He’s now had a sack in six consecutive games — many of them in key moments — and coming into Sunday’s game, was second only to Ford in quarterback hits, and led the team in tackles for loss.On Sunday, his second-quarter strip-sack of Josh Rosen — while the Cardinals recovered the fumble — was a key moment in the game.On the previous play, Bob Sutton had caught the Cardinals with a safety blitz by Ron Parker, and Jones’ sack put the kabosh on a Cardinals drive that could have put them in striking distance at the end of the first half. The man is indeed stone cold. It’s the end of the week at Arrowhead Pride, so that means we’re moving on from last week’s good performance against the Cincinnati Bengals and looking forward to this Sunday’s second matchup between the Denver Broncos and the Kansas City Chiefs! These teams faced off already in Week 4, and the Chiefs defense struggled to tackle and execute, allowing a pretty poor offense to control the game. The defense was bailed out by a stellar performance from the offense, but the Broncos game was a breaking point for many Chiefs fans.Luckily, for the Chiefs, the problems in the first matchup were by and large due to poor performances by the players on the field, with Reggie Ragland, Anthony Hitchens, Allen Bailey, and Ron Parker being targeted in the run game. In the last three weeks, each of these players has shown improvements and an ability to work with the rest of their teammates.Coming off the best performance of the year for the defense against a pretty good Bengals offense, the Broncos offense shouldn’t offer a stiff test. As I’ve covered the Broncos and their tendencies in a post recently, this week we’ll take a look at what’s changed in Denver’s personnel in the last three weeks and what the Chiefs can do to improve on their performance. The Broncos offenseIsaiah J. Downing-USA TODAY SportsCase Keenum has managed to throw at least one interception in every single game this year while throwing less touchdowns than picks.Quite simply, he’s been a game manager for the Broncos, but he hasn’t done a particularly great job of it.At running back, Royce Freeman has had a stellar year thus far, leading the second-ranked rushing offense in yards per carry. However Anthony Hitchens Jersey , a high ankle sprain late in last week’s Arizona Cardinals game has him ruled out for this week’s matchup. In his stead, third-down back Phillip Lindsay will shoulder the load with Devontae Booker. Neither is nearly the runner between the tackles that Freeman is.Tight end Jeff Heuermann led the Broncos in receiving yards and tied for targets during the last matchup, and has been slowly integrated more into the passing game. As with last time these teams met, wide receivers Emmanuel Sanders and Demaryius Thomas lead them on the outside with Courtland Sutton developing as a deep threat. Two major changes on the offensive line come at left guard and right tackle, with Max Garcia getting the start at guard, and Billy Turner replacing an injured Jared Veldheer at right tackle. The unit has allowed a lot of pressure this year, ranking 26th in pressure rate according to Football Outsiders. They’ve also allowed over two sacks a game to go with those pressures. The last time these teams faced, the Chiefs racked up four sacks, even with their poor defensive performance. How the Chiefs can improve on their performanceTackling between the tacklesIt seems quite simple to just target “tackling” as a point of improvement from the last meeting, but it was easily the worst performance of the year in that regard. The Broncos had four runs that should have been tackled for loss or no gain that ended up going for 10 or more yards. Over the past three weeks, the Chiefs defense has improved vastly in that regard, even if the overall performances haven’t always been positive. Against a team like the Broncos, who find most of their success on early downs — ninth in the league at attaining a new set of downs on first or second downs, according to SBNation’s NFL analytics — tackling well puts them into third down situations, where the Chiefs rank third and the Broncos rank 21st.Improved tackling coupled with some lighter backs who are a little easier to bring down, the Chiefs front seven could find themselves with some success this week in lighter boxes.Matchups in coverageThe last time these two teams played, the Denver Broncos not only ran the ball well, they also got the ball out quickly against a defense playing 40 percent off-man coverage. The Chiefs defense was largely beat underneath, with Keenum getting the ball out in an obscene 2.08 seconds per throw on average. If I’m Bob Sutton this week, I’m switching it up.I’d lean on another man-heavy game, but I’d bring the press in Arrowhead. Keenum was able to get into a rhythm early due to the short passing game, especially targeting Parker and Eric Murray against Heuermann, Orlando Scandrick against Sanders and Sutton, and Justin Houston against Booker and Lindsay. The emergence of Jordan Lucas in the past three weeks has allowed the Chiefs a little more coverage flexibility up front. As we saw last week against the Bengals, Sutton isn’t afraid to bracket a team’s No. 1 option and leave Lucas in man coverage against a tight end. If Sutton chooses to roll help over the top of Scandrick’s man this week, it can allow him to play more aggressive at the line of scrimmage and take away shorter routes, knowing that the Broncos’ speed won’t hurt the defense. Finally, last week’s dime packages for Dorian O’Daniel should pay some major dividends this week. Since the Broncos are without Freeman, healthy doses of Lindsay and Booker should be expected in the passing game. As neither have the same ability to break tackles and read blockers on interior runs that Freeman does Chad Henne Jersey , screens and rolling running backs into the flats to create space can be expected from the Broncos offense. The last time these teams faced was the first real look we got at O’Daniel with the first-team defense, as the lone off-ball linebacker in the Chiefs NASCAR pass rush package opposite Booker. Sutton trusted O’Daniel to match up with Joe Mixon this past week, so asking him to cover Booker and Lindsay out of the backfield shouldn’t be a stretch. Expect to see more of the dime and more O’Daniel this week as he grows into the game. The bottom lineThe last time these two teams faced, the Broncos were able to move the ball and put the Chiefs in an early hole — something only the New England Patriots have been able to do to this point. That’s good company to be in, if you’re a Denver fan.Unfortunately, the things the Broncos were able to do well (run between the tackles, across the middle with tight ends) will be limited due to some changes for both teams in the past three weeks. It cannot be overstated how huge of a loss Freeman is for the Denver offense this week. His ability to read the correct gap, make players miss and punish second and third level defenders is demoralizing for a defensive front. Denver is then able to utilize the smaller, quicker back in Lindsay to run at some tired legs. Without the initial set-up of Freeman, Lindsay isn’t quite as effective — particularly, between the tackles. The Broncos were able to pick on Parker and Murray in man coverage with Heuermann to gain some chunk yardage on early downs, setting the team up for easy conversions. Since that game, Lucas has come on strong and seems to be the preferred man coverage defender against the opposition’s tight ends and pass catching backs. Utilizing his ability to press and speed to close on routes will be key to take away a security blanket for Keenum and allow the pass rush to get home.Speaking of the pass rush, a backup right tackle against the Chiefs best pass rusher in Dee Ford should result in some serious fireworks this week. Ford’s been on a hot streak, and a game at home against a backup — with a quarterback that takes a lot of sacks — should have him licking his chops. I predict a multiple sack game from five-five this week.Quite simply, the Broncos offense doesn’t scare me without Freeman and in the cozy confines of Arrowhead. The Broncos offense hasn’t had to face at tough road atmosphere, with their away games being against the Baltimore Ravens, New York Jets, and the Arizona Cardinals. Make no mistake, this is the first real test of this offense’s ability to communicate and stay with the snap count in a raucous environment. On top of that, I think the Chiefs got one of Denver’s better games the last time these two teams played. It was on a big stage away from home, and the defensive errors compounded a good gameplan from the Broncos. At home, the Chiefs defense has executed better, tackled better and has managed to hold the opposition to under 17 points a game. With the Broncos missing some key starters and the Chiefs finding their identity with some young players, I expect another great performance on the defensive side of the ball this week.
